Ender 5 Pro hot-end repair
Faulty thermistor found, hot-end taken apart and cleaned, wiring checked and the printer put back together.
This Creality Ender 5 Pro came in with a hot-end fault. We checked what the printer screen reported, measured the hot-end wires with a multimeter, took the hot-end apart and traced the wiring back to the mainboard. The broken thermistor was replaced, the hot-end cleaned and refitted, and the printer tested before it went back. The whole repair is in the video below.

What we did
- Read the symptomsThe printer screen and the hot-end temperature reading showed where to start, before anything was opened.
- Measure the wiresWith a multimeter on the hot-end connectors we checked the heater and the thermistor, and ruled out the parts that were fine.
- Take the hot-end apartFan shroud, heater block and nozzle came off so every part could be checked and cleaned on the bench.
- Trace the wiring to the mainboardThe base was opened and each wire followed back to the board, with continuity checks along the way.
- Fix the hot-endThe faulty thermistor was replaced, the heater block cleaned, and the cables routed so they move freely with the head.
- Reassemble and testHot-end refitted, wiring tidied and the printer heated up and tested before it went back to work.
